A Secret Bill to Privatize Iraq’s Oil Fields?

Hmm,

They said invading Iraq had nothing to do with Oil. This is a very entertaining cartoon highlighting the details of a secret bill being introduced to Privatize Iraq’s oil fields. I’m definitely going to have to research this a bit more.

Ralph Nader praises Ron Paul while calling Hillary a coward

While being interviewed by politico.com, Ralph Nader announced that he might join the 2008 Presidential race to provide competition from outside the two parties.

During the interview he calls Hillary a “Coward”…”"She goes around pandering to powerful interest groups on the one hand and flattering general audiences on the other. She doesn’t even have the minimal political fortitude of her husband.” says Ralph.

In the same interview he gives praise to Ron Paul and Mike Gravel.

10 Year Old Video of Ron Paul - Same Message as Today.

This is a great video of Ron Paul from 1996. It really is amazing how someone can be consistent for so long about their beliefs. But I guess thats what happens when your beliefs are grounded in your belief in our Constitution. Isn’t that what the Constitution was created for?

Here are some quotes that were shown in the video:

“Ron Paul is one of the outstanding leaders fighting for a stronger national defense. As a former Air Force Officer, he knows well the needs of our armed forces, and he always puts them first. We need him fighting for our country.”

Ronald Reagan - Former President

“This courageous and quiet Congressman has made a worldwide name for himself as the defender of liberty in this country… a persistent fighter for the reduction of the power of bureaucrats everywhere… and one politician who cannot be bought by special interests.”

Maxwell Newton — The New York Post

“Ron Paul has a record of philisophical consistency unmatched in recent congressional history. He seeks to limit government at practically every turn. His refusal to compromise is legendary.”

Wall Street Journal

“I strongly support Ron Paul, We very badly need to have more representatives in the House who understand in a principled way the importance of property rights and religous freedom.”

Milton Friedman - Nobel Prize Economist

Ron Paul Still Growing as Most Popular Presidential Candidate Online

I was doing some research on Alexa.com for a site I am marketing and decided to check out the traffic trends of some of the top presidential candidates websites.

I looked at HillaryClinton.com (Democrat), BarackObama.com (Democrat), Rudy Giuliani (JoinRudy2008.com Republican), MittRomney.com (Republican), and RonPaul2008.com (Republican).

The candidates with the most significant traffic scores were Hillary, Barack, and Ron Paul. The rest of the candidate’s websites had less traffic. In order to keep the chart readable I have removed all sites except Hillary’s, Barack’s and Ron’s, but feel free to check the other candidates sites yourselves to verify what I am reporting.

candidatetrends.jpg

The Blue represents Ron Paul, Yellow is Hillary Clinton, and Red is Barack Obama. I have added lines to represent the average trend for the past 3 months. You’ll notice that Ron Paul is the only candidate with an upward trend.

Please note that Hillary received a huge bump from the release of the Sopranos Parody Video around June 17th. It is a great example of viral marketing online, and I definitely give her campaign staff credit for a job well done, but this is a short term bump created by a single viral campaign, not a trend.

Now let me quickly point out some obvious differences between Hillary, Obama, and Ron Paul.

As of the first Quarter of this year Hillary reported $36,000,000 in her war chest. Barack reported roughly $25,000,000. Ron Paul reported a paltry $650,000.

This just goes to show that Ron Paul internet popularity isn’t because he has paid millions of dollars for viral marketing and video campaigns. He is popular because his message is naturally Viral. Watch some of the real video’s of Ron Paul in action and you might see for yourself why he is so widely popular online, despite receiving a fraction of the main stream media coverage the “front-runners” receive.

I think it’s also worthy to note that Ron experienced tremendous jumps in traffic after each of the three republican debates. He is not just popular on the internet, every time he is heard in a major forum, his popularity grows compared to those around him. Will he ever break into the mainstream? Will corporate controlled media outlets with political interests ever allow Ron Paul to be heard?

Btw, You can always count on San Francisco to be ahead of the times. Here’s a great article from the San Fransisco Chronicle referencing Ron Paul’s popularity on Technorati and Youtube..

Serious Interview with “Daily Show’s” John Stewart

This video is a couple months old, but It’s interesting to see John Stewart outside of his normal scene. He speaks a lot about the war and the state of affairs in the United States. It’s no wonder he is a fan of Ron Paul.

John Stewart Interview on Bill Moyer’s Journal - Part 1

There are 4 parts to the interview. You can find them through the “related” section.

Steven from BoomanTribune.com writes, “Why we will stay in Iraq”

This is a great article from Steven over at BoomanTribune.com. Sums up a lot of what Ron Paul talks about. I try not to be a doomsdayer but you would have to live in a pretty deep hole not to see the economic problems that plague our nation. The war in Iraq needs to end, not just because it is wrong, but because we can’t afford it.

We are borrowing (and printing) hundreds of billions of dollars to pay for a war that was not authorized by Congress nor the American People. 70% of Americans want us out of Iraq, yet there are only 3 candidates running in 2008 with the balls to say we need to get out “NOW”. Ron Paul, Mike Gravel, and Dennis Kucinech are the only candidates promoting immediate pullout, and Ron Paul is the only one with a true understanding of the financial problems that face this country.

Ron Paul’s Ideals are radical to some, but there are only three major issues that the next President needs to address; The war in Iraq, the sad state of our financial system, and the ever decreasing freedoms of the American people. On these subjects Ron has no equal.

This country taxes nearly half of every dollar earned by its citizens. If we dropped these needless wars we could all but eliminate the federal income tax. The best way to promote security at home is to have a strong economy and a united nation that is independent from the politics of foreign countries. As history has proven, we do not make ourselves stronger by intervening in world affairs, we make ourselves weaker.

The Ron Paul Censorship Continues. Excluded by Iowans for Tax Relief?

Head on over to digg and help support Ron. He is being excluded from the a debate being hosted by the “Iowans for Tax Relief”. This is a joke considering he is the only candidate that has never voted for a tax increase.

Washington, DC: Congressman Ron Paul has been recognized as a top advocate for taxpayers in the U.S. Congress for the tenth year in a row, earning the nonpartisan National Taxpayers Union’s annual award as a “Taxpayers’ Friend” for 2006. Only 30 of 435 members in the U.S. House of Representatives earned similar honors last year.
